About the Artist

Amber Lavinia is a British contemporary figurative painter whose work is rooted in drawing and sustained observation of the human figure. Combining strong draughtsmanship with an expressive approach to paint, her practice explores the space between representation and interpretation, where structure, gesture and emotion converge.

Initially self-taught, Amber's artistic development was shaped through years of independent study and observational drawing. Time spent working from the collections of the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre and the Musée Rodin in Paris fostered a deep engagement with European figurative painting and ultimately led her towards the atelier tradition.

This formative period culminated in her first solo exhibition, Roses, in Montmartre, Paris, before further study in Florence, including training at Charles Cecil Studios. Following subsequent exhibitions in Italy, including Cambiamenti at Palazzo Ducale, Genoa, she continued to develop a practice that balances technical rigour with expressive freedom.
